The Centre for Animal Biotechnology

 

The Centre for Animal Biotechnology (CAB) is internationally renowned as a Centre of Excellence for large animal research. The CAB has major research programs in the areas of Immunology, Vaccine Development, Gene Mapping and Reproductive Technologies. The scientific achievements of the Centre’s research activities are communicated through publication in high ranking international journals and presentations at national and international conferences.

The Centre also actively pursues the practical applications of research findings through a number of collaborations with Industry Partners and Rural bodies.

The CAB has a major emphasis on training of graduate students in a high-quality research environment. Since 1990, over 40 students have successfully completed their graduate studies at CAB and have found rewarding and stimulating positions in the best veterinary and medical research institutes in Australia and overseas.
